Yellowstone National Park was created in 1872,by president Ulysses S. Grant. The Park is so big it is located in 3 states, Wyoming with the most, Montana, and Idaho. The attractions are numerous but Old Faithful is at the top of the list. The US Army was in charge of protecting the park in the beginning because it took Congress until 1917 to create the USFS.

The Park is 3,468 square miles, which includes Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest high altitude lakes and the largest volcano on the continent. It is considered an active volcano because it has erupted 2 times in the last 2 million years.
